Mission
100 wordsClearBlock's mission is to eliminate the time, cost, and complexity between deciding to build something and actually building it. In America today, pre-construction (compliance, permitting, energy modeling, cost estimation, and plan revisions) can take longer and cost more than construction itself. Post-construction closeout adds more. All of it is manual, fragmented, and decades behind every other industry. We're building the platform that handles it all. Starting with compliance and permitting. Expanding into cost estimation and procurement. Growing into plan generation where a buildable, compliant, priced, permit-ready design is produced before anyone picks up a pencil. One platform, concept to keys.
Why this business is necessary
480 wordsAmerica has a construction crisis. The problem isn’t just that construction is expensive, rather the industry as a whole has become too slow at turning need into reality. We need more housing, more schools, more factories, more energy infrastructure, and more basic civic capacity than we are producing today. Yet even when land is available, financing is lined up, and demand is obvious, projects still get stuck for months or years before they move forward. The result is not just higher prices. It is a broader loss of national capacity: the inability to build what the country already knows it needs. A large part of that failure sits in the regulatory layer around construction. Before a project can begin, it has to move through a maze of code requirements, local amendments, compliance documentation, review processes, permit filings, corrections, resubmissions, inspections, and signoffs. None of these steps are unreasonable on their own. The problem is that, taken together, they form a system that is fragmented, manual, and incredibly hard to navigate at scale. That fragmentation has real consequences. It slows housing production in places that desperately need more supply. It raises the cost of public and private projects alike. It punishes smaller builders who cannot afford deep local expertise in every market. It overloads municipal staff with inconsistent submissions and repetitive review cycles. And it quietly shifts enormous amounts of time and capital away from building itself and into administrative survival. This is one of the least modernized but most consequential parts of the American economy. For all the talk about innovation in construction, the regulatory process around it still depends heavily on disconnected documents, specialized local knowledge, and coordination across parties who often do not share the same information. In practice, that means the country’s ability to build is constrained by a process that does not learn, does not scale well, and often forces every new project to solve the same problems from scratch. That is why ClearBlock is necessary. ClearBlock is catching over 90% of the code violations that cause correction letters before plans ever reach the city. Builders upload plans with a project address. ClearBlock identifies every applicable requirement for that jurisdiction, reviews the documents, flags violations with the exact code section and fix, and produces everything needed to file: energy reports, compliance documentation, permit applications, and fee calculations. After construction, it supports inspection readiness and certificate of occupancy closeout. One platform from first submission to final signoff. But what makes ClearBlock necessary at a national level is what it builds over time. Every project processed maps more of the regulatory landscape, jurisdiction by jurisdiction. What applies where, what gets enforced, what causes delay. That dataset has never existed. It is the foundation for making pre-construction predictable and scalable across the entire country, not just for one builder in one market, but for every project at every address.
