Mission

74 words

Kairos Health is building the leading end-to-end patient intake platform that ensures every patient who reaches a clinic becomes a treated visit. Today, dental practices lose over 25% of revenue due to missed calls, scheduling inefficiencies, and disconnected workflows across patient intake. We automate this entire intake process through voice AI, rule-based scheduling, and outbound engagement. By optimizing patient intake, Kairos Health transforms how clinics capture demand and deliver timely, reliable care at scale.

Why this business is necessary

493 words

Growing up in the Rio Grande Valley, I spent afternoons in my mom’s dental clinic watching the phone ring unanswered while the receptionist was always verifying insurance, handling paperwork, or on hold with a specialist. Years later, when I asked dental offices about their biggest operational problem, I heard the same story: patients call, no one picks up, and those patients book somewhere else. According to the American Dental Association, dental front desks miss roughly 35% of inbound calls every day because the front desk is expected to simultaneously check in patients, verify insurance, manage cancellations, coordinate referrals, and keep every chair filled. This results in roughly 300 missed patient intakes per month causing $150K in annual revenue per location. This is exactly the gap Kairos Health targets. Kairos Health is the end-to-end AI patient intake platform purpose-built for dental practices. When a patient calls, Kairos answers 24/7, collects their information, verifies insurance in real time, and books the appointment directly into the clinic's existing system, whether that’s Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Open Dental (with no human intervention). A second module re-engages dormant patients and fills canceled slots through automated outreach. From first ring to confirmed chair time, the workflow runs without adding headcount. Existing tools like Weave or Arini are generic answering services that can pick up a phone, but they can’t distinguish a 30-minute cleaning from a 60-minute filling, verify insurance coverage, or write directly into the practice management system. Our barrier to entry is in real-time insurance workflows, which are difficult and time-intensive to replicate. As Kairos scales, it builds proprietary data on scheduling patterns and patient conversion. We’ve already seen this work. 12 practices are piloting Kairos today, and 27 others have signed letters of intent. At Pecan Dental (RGV-based), we drove a 34% increase in intake-to-treatment conversion, a 42% lift in chair utilization, and saved the front desk 9-12 hours weekly. Our SaaS model charges $1,200 per month per location at 85% gross margin, recovered by filling just three to five previously missed appointments. We’ve been accepted into the MassChallenge HealthTech accelerator, partnered with the Texas A&M College of Dentistry for clinical validation, and placed in multiple national competitions including E-Fest, Bangkok Business Challenge, and Rice Launch Challenge. We’re targeting 60,000 understaffed, phone-dependent practices across a $1.44 billion serviceable market, starting in federally designated shortage areas where we already have deep roots. Assuming a 5% capture over the next two years, this represents a $72M SOM. We built Kairos Health because we understand the problem from every angle. Our co-CEO Adhira previously built and licensed a healthcare startup and interned at ClearView Healthcare Partners. Our co-CEO Sanjana deployed ML models at UT Southwestern. Our CTO Tanush designed production-grade voice AI systems at Amazon and SpaceX. Our founding engineer Aditya engineered data-driven AI products at NYSE and built our EHR integration and scheduling engine from scratch. Kairos Health isn't just improving patient intake, it's redefining how modern dental practices operate.
